We usually go to the gym on Tuesday evenings after I get home from work because the University offers FREE childcare for 2 hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays while parents exercise. Last Tuesday there was a major gas leak and the University was evacuated. Gym = closed. Childcare = closed. Serendipity intervened in the absence of a formal backup plan. All of the buses were on detour around the evac zone, so I walked home (detouring around the evac zone) and got sufficient activity for my pregnant self.

Well, not everyone can count on a evacuation zone intervening between work and home when their plans change. This is why planning ahead is crucial.

(I trust you were wearing comfortable shoes)
