Perfect timing! We are headed out west next week and I'm hoping to keep up some of my recent diet changes. Hope you had a good trip!

Wow, what a great post! Thanks for helping others think outside the box with their vacation meals. I am one of those people who inconvenience others when on vacation or eating out. I take my scale everywhere and weigh and measure my food in public. It's a challenge on the road, but it is doable and I've been guilt and indigestion free for 3+ years. Not everyone has to do what I do so it's good to know there are other ways of staying clean where you're on the scene!;)

PNG, you do what you have to do. If you have the self-discipline and confidence to weigh and measure food when you're out, and if you know it's what you have to do to stay on track, I applaud you!

Not everyone has to continue public food measuring after they've done it for a while, but I think it's a good exercise for anyone who's serious about portion control to weigh/measure EVERYTHING -- even in public -- for at least a short time period to understand what a portion really looks like. It doesn't have to be a whole-life commitment (though some may choose to make it one) to be a helpful learning experience.
