I started crying when I read her post for today. "I wrote my son's obituary yesterday." I'm tearing up again just thinking it.

No one should ever have to write their child's obituary.

I live near Knoxville, and this makes my blood cold. from what I've seen, I'm less than impressed with police protection around here. Just 4 years ago, a guy named Steve Hall had the audacity to run against the county executive and the bullet missed his head by an arm's length. This didn't make the front page headline; it was under the fold. Thank goodness Henry has such a media-savy mom like Katie to be his advocate.
I've looked up to Katie a lot and my heart breaks for her.

This is probably the worst dilemma any mother could face. I cannot imaging myself losing my son. I'd rather that I'd die first before him.
