Something I have truly appreciated these last couple of weeks is seeing how eloquent and brave so many people are ... people whose blogs I've read for years I mean ... 'ordinary' people, like me. Just folks, you know? And we're speaking up. And it does do some measure of good. I have to believe that. It is a good thing, being able to call one's representatives. Standing up and saying, "no" ... we have to. If we don't say no, who will? If history can teach us anything, it can teach us that silence only begets tragedy. We can't stay silent. Our voices, together, are mighty.

Thank you for making me think of contacting my congresswoman and senators. I too am in a very liberal area now, after moving recently.
